I'm so lame

Let me start by saying that I hardly do stupid things - but this one was just so lame. You may find it funny, or not - but I couldn't believe I did it.

So there I was, with my bowl of macaroni driving (I know, right...) to get Mindy from the gate. We normally go to the Main Gate, but I live closer to the Virginia Gate, so I have made her meet me there instead so I can sponsor her on base. So, I pull up and as the cop takes my id, her partner asks if I'm sponsoring the car behind me. I say I am - and he tells me to pull to the side because her car got flagged for a search. I asked him again, "Oh she is getting pulled?" The guy said yes. I say - WHILE LAUGHING mind you - "Oh good, I'm so glad it's not me". COULD I LOOK MORE SUSPICIOUS.

So they pull Mindy - and open all of her doors, trunk and hood. They let the dogs go through it, and obviously found nothing. My macaroni got wet from the rain, and I swear to you they really wanted to know what I had in my car that made me say I was glad they weren't searching my car. I'm so dumb. I feel so bad for Jon that he'll be known for having the crazy wife. He has to work with those people. In any case, it was funnier if you would have been there - kinda. I should stop talking.

Pictures

Here are some pictures, wedding and otherwise.

Only a few more days!

I'm so thankful that Jonathon let me know today that he is leaving Iraq tomorrow. FINALLY. It has been such a long year, and I think we're both just done. It has been a lot of work, but luckilly, we're at the end.

Suddenly, I have to run around the house cleaning everything up. My dining room is hardly ever used, since most nights Mindy is working - I eat alone upstairs. Even so, cleaning it was such a chore! Good grief. A good amount of Diet Coke keeps me going. My list of "to dos" is shrinking.

I get to pick up our puppy on Tuesday. I've gone to see her twice. The bre
eders are in Virginia, and some of the best people I've met. She's a Bloodhound, and currently 25lbs. We're thinking she'll be close to 100lbs full grown. (That's 23lbs less than me! She's a whole other person!!) Even so, she's very cute, and I think Jonathon is looking forward to seeing her more than our new house!

Mindy is moving out this week. As much as I'll miss her - I like that I get the trade of getting my husband home. She's moving to Alexandria, Virginia, which is about 15 minutes from us (Just across the bridge!). I'm sure we'll have her and her boyfriend over often.

We're still undecided if we're going to Colorado for Christmas. I believe Jonathon has ALS (training) this fall, so I'm not sure we can get away. It may be my first Christmas away from my family. Everyone please make sure to send Christmas cards!

I hope everyone is enjoying the fall weather. It's still so rainy here - I think from the storm down in the Carolinas. Our tile floors are getting so cold, not even socks keep us warm.

I'll share pictures soon of Jonathon at the airport at his big homecoming. I'm so excited I can't even explain!! Take care everyone! God Bless..

Almost there

It's the end of an era...almost! Jonathon will be home in the next week or so. PRAISE THE LORD! We have both waited for so long for this.

Our wedding was absolutely amazing! After I stopped crying... My favorite part was our cake, which Jon and I never even got a piece of. Thank you to everyone who made the trip to share in our day.

We have been married for 7 months, but we haven't even lived together. I was in Colorado when I got a call saying I had 10 (yes 10) days to move to Maryland. For anyone who's wondering, it's 1700 miles from Colorado. Thank goodness for a great family to help pack, load and move with me! Between my parents, sister, brother, niece, nephew and some movers that we jacked from the neighbors I was all moved in.

I've been in Maryland for 2 months now. I actually really like it. I have learned my way around, and where to go for all of my shopping therapy. I've also learned where not to go. No seriously. I've decided that any city ending in the word "Heights" is off limits. IE: Capital Heights, District Heights, etc. I ended up in Capital Heights, and a cop actually laughed at me when he heard where I was. Great...

Let me tell you that Maryland doesn't have bugs. I'm sure they are dinosaurs. They are massive and everywhere! I'm into prevention, so I just spray everywhere, always. Here's a good story. Jonathon called me at night, so I was sitting in his car talking to him. It's dark. All of a sudden, I see my trash can MOVE. No joke. So I sit and wait a minute. I realize there are animals in the trash can. I honk the horn to get Mindy out there. I make her get into the car...and we wait. Sure enough 15 minutes go by, and TWO raccoons pop the lid off the can and climb out. What is that?!

Jonathon and I pick up his puppy in a few days. She's super cute. We'll be a family of four. (Don't freak out, we have a cat, too)

Please keep Jonathon and his friends in your prayers until they are safely back on US soil.

Love, natalie
